Hello there! It’s been a while since we last met. A whole new class of students just entered the classroom this month, which is absolutely crazy.
Well, it would be less crazy if it didn’t include myself.
Yeah. I’m a first year college student now. How crazy is that? I started working on Notecard++ in high school. That same high school now uses that app with its students. It blows my mind every time I think about it.
A few things have gone on since then. I successfully migrated over to an organization with Apple. I did a lot of work on the app that I am happy to get to share with you all soon, and worked on a new monetization system that will eventually start to see usage sometime early next year (Anyone with IAP experience, email me please!).
Today, I was just preparing to start uploading my first private beta for TestFlight– I’m sorry, the last update to Notecard++ was 9 months ago?
What?
Well, I know what I’m doing this upcoming week. How about we first take a look at what I have to show so far?
An All New Design

I know, I know, it hasn’t even been a year yet. Well, if you know the design philosophy behind Notecard++, you’ll know we focus on being as close to native as possible (hence why the Android port might take a while). And thanks to Apple, we have a whole new Liquid Glass UI to design. That’s where this new UI comes in. I was already planning a navigational overhaul to the app, but I wasn’t expecting to need it so soon. This new UI does come at a cost though, so we will be losing out on iOS/iPadOS 17 support. The good news is that almost device that got iOS/iPadOS 17 also got 18, so we should be fine compatibility wise (so sorry iPad (6th gen), iPad Pro 12.9″ (2nd gen), and iPad Pro 10.5″ users, you will be missed). I hope to keep this base well of iOS/iPadOS 18 though for a few years now.
Hello Mac.
macOS support IS PLANNED!! I’ll have more next week (hopefully).
TestFlight
Coming Soon™.
Closing Thoughts
I hope to make these Friday Updates more regular. They are a nice way to catch up with the community and get to share some of my own ideas to get feedback. I’ll also be posting more regularly on social media to hype up these posts, so go check out @captnjason on Instagram and CaptnJason Development Studios on Facebook. Until next time, folks!
